Dr. Stout joined North Phoenix Heart Center in 2005 after finishing his medicine, cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology training at Tufts-New England Medical Center, in Boston, Massachusetts.  Aside from an excellent education from one of the field’s most prominent electrophysiology educators, he performed nearly 1000 procedures as primary operator during his two year fellowship.

Dr. Stout performs pacemaker, defibrillator and cardiac resynchronization therapy device implants as well as electrophysiology evaluations and ablation therapy for supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation.  He is trained in 3-dimensional cardiac mapping techniques utilizing both contact and non-contact mapping methods and utilizes these technologies for his more complicated procedures.

Dr. Stout’s other clinical interests include management of cardiac channelopathies; including the Long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome and familial polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, and the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia/Cardiomyopathy (ARVD/C) and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy patients

Dr. Stout is a strong proponent of device therapy and gives frequent lectures on identification of appropriate cardiac patients who may benefit from implantable pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronization therapy.  He prides himself on keeping his patients fully informed of what procedures they need performed, why they need them and whether or not they can elect not to have them.

When not working, Dr. Stout enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs, traveling to Italy, bike riding and rollerblading.  He is an avid computer hobbyist.

Dr. Stout is ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.  The majority of his practice is focused on electrophysiology but he does practice general cardiology on a limited basis.
