Dr. Kauffman has been practicing Clinical Cardiology for 15 years. In 1992, Dr. Kauffman, his wife and three children moved West, initially to the Los Angeles area, eventually settling in Phoenix, Arizona. He is currently one of the Managing Partners and Vice President of North Phoenix Heart Center. Dr. Kauffman practices all aspects of Clinical Cardiology with special interest in Interventional Cardiology. His areas of expertise include Cardiac Catheterization, Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA), Cutting Balloon Athrectomy, Coronary Artery Stenting, including placement of bare metal and drug eluding stents (DES), and Rotoblator techniques. Dr Kauffman is actively involved in Hospital Administrative activities. He is currently Chairman of the Department of Medicine at John C Lincoln North Mountain Hospital (JCLNM). He also is the Director of Cardiology at JCLNM which oversees the cardiac catheterization laboratory, non-invasive cardiology, coronary intensive care and telemetry units, nursing education and the development of new cardiology programs at the hospital. He also oversees physician credentialing, education, and peer review Dr. Kauffman is the physician liaison for the ACC Door-to-Balloon initiative in the treatment of acute myocardial infarctions and participates in many other CMS quality of improvement projects. Recently, Dr. Kauffman has expanded his role in advocacy in cardiology as a Councilor for the local chapter of the American College of Cardiology. He attends local and national meetings and has been invited to Washington, DC to speak with Congress regarding health care policy.Dr. Kauffman is ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.
